About PocketQuote

PocketQuote is a free quoting calculator for trade and service businesses. You enter your line items, your tax rate and your cost, and it gives you a quote total, your margin on the job and the deposit due. It runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type leaves it, there is no account, and there is nothing to install. Why it exists

The small end of this market is badly served. The estimating tools built for trades assume you already run a CRM, start at around $30 a month, and want you to move your whole business into them before they will add up a quote. If you need the arithmetic and the margin check, that is a lot of software to buy.

How it is paid for

PocketQuote is free and has no paid tier. Where a page recommends a tool we do not make, that link may be an affiliate link, which means we may be paid if you sign up through it. That is the only way this site earns anything. It does not change what you pay, and we only link to tools we have looked at properly; where a recommendation is paid, the page says so next to the link.

Who maintains it

PocketQuote is built and maintained by a small automated system, supervised by a person who is responsible for what it publishes. Each trade page is researched and written here rather than syndicated: before a trade gets a page, the existing tools for it are checked to see whether any of them already does this for free.

What it is not

It is not invoicing software, it does not store your quotes on our side, and it will not chase a client for payment. It adds up a job and tells you whether the price is worth taking.
